IPT and 2016/2017

The school year is fast approaching so I decided to have a think about the blog and the next 12 months. First things first, I am so delighted that the blog is continuing to grow from strength to strength with over 35,000 views in less than a week along with a following of over 15,000 people on Facebook – WOW!

As many of you know I’ll be working as a resource teacher next year so I will be writing a lot of blogposts about working as a resource teacher, some tips and ideas that work well for me and I’ll be sharing some new resources that I make. There will also be lots of other ideas, tips and resources shared during the year.

Aims for the blog

Just for fun, I like challenging myself and growing the numbers of people who read the blog and who follow on social media. My aim for blog views was 120,000 by October – the blog views are now nearly at 140,000 – making it just short of 40,000 views in less than a week so I’m hoping this will continue over the next few weeks/months. I’m hoping that the followers on Facebook and Instagram will also increase!

I’m also setting myself a target of 2-3 blogposts per week so hopefully I’ll be able to think of enough ideas – I’m always delighted to receive messages with blogpost ideas/questions so please continue to send these my way!

Social media

I have lots of different social media accounts including;

Facebook

Instagram

Twitter

Snapchat – IPTeacher

Running social media accounts for the blog is very time consuming so I’ll be concentrating mainly on Facebook and Instagram for the next few months.

Balance

IPT is my hobby and I really enjoy blogging and making resources. I get hundreds of messages and emails each week and I love helping people. I could happily spend hours on the blog or uploading content to social media every day. However, from September I will have a nightly cut off time of 8pm. I think its important to put ‘work’ away and relax for the evening.
