While I know winter started in November, we have been fairly lucky with the weather so far. School yards are often the coldest places in the world during the winter months!The weather has certainly felt colder this week so here are some tips for surviving winter yard duty!
Invest in a warm coat! I bought a ‘ski’ jacket two years ago and its brilliant for yard duty. There are loads of sales on at the moment so you’re sure to get a good bargain!
Some good bargains;
Hat, Scarf, Gloves
More essentials. Penneys always have great deals! I always leave them in the classroom in case I’m asked to cover for a colleague last minute!
My hair is always full of tangles after a windy/cold yard duty so I invested in a tangle teaser. They cost about €15 and are available from Boots and other pharmacies.
Leftovers are perfect for lunch the next day – especially if you’re on yard duty! Soup is also great for warming you up before you face the cold.
