Maths Box from Prim Ed

I received Maths Box 3 from Prim Ed last Friday. There are 6 boxes available from 1st to 6th class.

Whats inside the box?

  • 75 laminated maths cards (2 of each – making a total of 150)
  • 75 laminated answer cards (2 of each – total 150)
  • Teacher Guide

Maths Cards – Questions and Answers

The cards are divided into strands – number, algebra, shape and space, measures and data. Number and Measures are divided into strand units too. There are a number of cards available for each strand.

Number Cards (Questions Back to Back and Answer Card)

number-1 number-2 number-answer

Multiplication (Question cards – back to back and answer card)

multiplication-1 multiplication-2 multiplication-answer

2D Shapes – Card 1 (2 sided question card and an answer card)

shape-and-space-1 shape-and-space-2 shape-and-space-answer

Time (Question card – back to back and answer card)

time-1 time-2 time-answer

I like that there is two of each card available – 2 children/ 2 groups can work on the same card and then work together to check their answers and discuss any differences – opening up a dialogue and discussion. I think the cards would be brilliant for station teaching and for early finishers.

Teachers Guide

The teachers guide is very comprehensive with a guideline on each card and the areas it covers along with resource cards and mini posters.

Overall I really like the Maths box and definitely think it would be a great addition to any classroom for station teaching or for use with early finishers. The cards and interesting, relevant, colourful and incorporate real life maths.
